An impressionist view from a path heading to the beach. I awoke early one morning and saw this scene on my way down to the beach. The sun was just rising over the dunes. My intent was to paint the ocean en-plein-air, but instead this view grabbed my attention and I just had to paint it.
Materials used: oil paint on primed cotton panel. The painting surface is protected with a coat of Gamvar varnish. It is framed in a gold leaf colored frame.
